Need Help with SEO for a Jewelry-Related Website

Hello everyone, I have recently launched a website that sells a variety of jewelry items, from necklaces to earrings and bracelets. I am looking for some recommendations on how to improve the website's search engine optimization (SEO) to increase traffic and sales.

I understand that SEO can be a complicated process, and I am hoping to get some expert advice from this forum. I am particularly interested in optimizing my website for specific keywords related to jewelry, such as "diamond earrings" or "gold necklaces."

Any suggestions, tips, or advice (link not permitted in posts) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Suggest you start by looking in the SEO section and Web Design section.

The more specific and detailed your questions, the better the answers will be.

Its hard to explain everything here. First make sure your website is fast loading. User friendly design. Then optimize your images and alt tags.

In your products description/title use keywords and related keywords.

Make a blog section and write about related topics and link back to related products on your store.

Those are some incredibly difficult keyword phrases to try to rank for. You're going up against some really big guys.

I'd suggest going after much longer tail keywords in order to have any chance at all.

SEO is only a complicated process when you're not well experienced in the topic. SEO can be simple and straight forward once you know and apply the best practices for Search engine optimization

  • Use a keyword tool like Spyfu to get a list of low competition keywords related to the ones you just mentioned. Trying to rank for low competition terms for a new website with no high quality backlinks is probably the best strategy to start off with.

Add a blog to your jewelry site and start writing content about questions/issues/interests people have about jewelry. Strive to get backlinks from relevant sites in your niche.

Great ways to do this are by writing guest blog posts, writing content that people will want to link to, and ask any partners/distributors you work with to link back to you. There are more ways to get backlinks but these are some of the easiest.

  • I agree with all the comments here. Something that I have found helpful, is to start a blog. This is a great way to get noticed by "Google Bot." Start writing about topics that people are searching for online. I would then publish those posts to your social networks. Also, a gallery section on your site won't hurt. Remember to add "alt" tags to your images!

    Good luck!
