Affiliate Site Basics / Recommendations

Hi All - Just getting back into this after a looong break....I had a couple sites like 10 years ago.. And would like to get a couple more going, but want to take the path with the least friction as far as site set up. Questions:

Is it still good practice to not use the same domain and hosting company? aka both from godaddy? Or is there a good one stop shop?
Is Aweber still the go to newsletter format?
Any other goodies I'm missing (I realize I'm missing a lot) ?

Very much appreciate any quick thoughts.

      Thank you, Kay! I think I remember seeing you on here a lot around 2008, and based on your post numbers, I probably did...

      I had a couple amazon affiliate sites that were more or less proof of concepts to see if I could do this (I did make some money, not a lot). Been in sales for a while now, and am thinking about jumping back in and maybe automating some things (since I have more money now) and seeing what I can do. I recall tying my word press sites to my hosting account being a pain in the ass, but maybe it got easier.. ha! But I'd like to start with a couple and test and see what happens.

    It's been a very long time since someone asked a similar question. I usually keep the domain and hosting company separate. Namecheap is currently running a sale on domains and hosting right now, till midnight on May 15, 2023. Dot coms are on sale for $ 7.98

    Here is the link Name Cheap, they also can provide a one-stop solution - https://www.namecheap.com/ (Not an affiliate link) If you want to go that route. Just a suggestion, do not use their EasyWord Press builder.

    As far as Aweber, I have not seen that name mentioned here in a very long time. Most of the stuff I get from other marketers, they usually use Constant Contact.

      Thank you, DWolfe, appreciate the information. I was thinking it was better to keep them separate, but as I mentioned to Kay on this thread I remember tying my hosting to my sites, being a pain in the ass back then.. I wore Hostgator's support out, but they helped a ton... But maybe it got easier, idk. Thanks again!

    Your question is generally very broad. Sure, it is good to have different hosts for different domains, but it is not essential. For Newsletter/Email marketing, you can get an application of your choice, this is something that has changed, so be sure that email authentications are set properly and your emails are getting deliver to inbox.

    A site that was recommended to me by my mentor is Builderall.com It has several different plans available (starting at a very reasonable price) and includes easy site builders, email hosting and autoresponder all in one.

    There are many other tools available, too, and as your business grows, you can easily upgrade to include anything else you might need. There are also video tutorials for everything on the site.
