How to improve my SEO

Hey guys (and girls),

I have been writing a lot of articles the last couple of months. I used SurferSEO to write them, and I am also using Wordpress.

Months later, and almost 800 articles, I still find that I have a serious lack of traffic. I have one #1 position, two #2 positions and a couple of other "nice" positions but most of the ranking is very low.

I did a lot of manual linkbuilding (free backlinks) because I cannot afford to buy links yet. I will in the future but for now I cannot.

Can you guys maybe tell me what or where I can improve? I don't mind learning and putting in the time. I love to learn more about SEO and everything that is involved.

Hope to hear from ya'll

Go here: https://backlinko.com/ and study keyword selection and the skyscraper technique.

Go here and study silos for SEO.

Links you create yourself don't help you unless it's on a PBN (private backlink network) that you and you alone (or, maybe you and your better half) add links to.

SEO is a long-term process, and results may take time to appear. It's important to stay updated with the latest SEO practices and algorithm changes to adapt your strategies accordingly.

Don't know your niche, but there's a guy on YouTube who works as an SEO specialist for a clothing company in Italy. He shares interesting techniques and often ranks on Google's first page in hours. If interested, you can search for Income stream surfers on YouTube.

You should focus on high traffic keywords instead of just posting articles. Keyword value matters... position 2 for some of your keywords would have sent you decent traffic if the keyword was good.

To enhance your rankings and increase traffic, there are a few suggestions I can offer:

Evaluate your keyword research: Ensure you're targeting relevant and high-traffic keywords. Use keyword research tools to identify potential keywords with lower competition that can still drive significant traffic.

On-page optimization: Make sure your articles have well-optimized titles, meta descriptions, headings, and keyword placement throughout the content. This can positively impact your rankings.

Content quality and uniqueness: Ensure your articles provide unique, valuable, and engaging content that distinguishes them from competitors. This can help attract and retain readers, as well as improve your search engine rankings.

Backlink building: While you mentioned your limitations in buying links, consider focusing on acquiring quality backlinks naturally. Reach out to relevant websites or bloggers in your niche and offer guest posts or collaborations. Building genuine relationships can lead to valuable backlinks.

Social media promotion: Leverage social media platforms to share and promote your articles. Engage with your audience, participate in relevant communities, and consider using relevant hashtags to expand your reach.
