An important factor that may determines your store's success

Hi all, I've launched 3 marketing campaigns in the last month on Facebook Ads and Propeller Ads (push notifications). In 2 of the campaigns I'm selling print on demand products. In 1 of the campaigns I'm advertising a cpa lead gen offer. I've had more success promoting the cpa offer and I think I know why.

It's called "ease of conversion."

Based on the data I have from my campaigns, it is it easier to get someone to fill out just their name and email address (simple lead gen) than it is to get someone to buy my product as well as fill out their name, email, phone number, home address etc. All my products solve a problem that the customer have, but one requires much less effort on the prospect's part.

I don't think that people like pulling out their wallet and giving too much personal info. However, people are less hesitant to give just their email address. I know this from running Facebook Lead Ads. It's really easy to get leads this way. It's much harder to get people to buy a product.

What do you think?

Thanks

Your conclusion is that 'people' would rather give an email address in exchange for 'something' than give MONEY to buy something? I'm surprised that would surprise you.

An email address is free - opt outs are almost always provided if you end up on a list. If no opt-out you can route emails straight to spam and never see them.

I don't understand that it would take "3 campaigns" to realize it's easier to give something away for FREE than to convince people to pay money for a product.

The 'test' would be between ads selling a product and a CPA offer that requires a credit card submission.

Thanks for the reply Kay King. You make good points but it's not just necessarily money. I've tested full form CPA offers vs email only cpa offers and I've discovered that offers that only require a little info have a higher conversion rate. Even if both offers cost no money to the customer.

I was promoting a credit report cpa offer a couple of months ago. Getting a conversion requires the prospect to enter: name, email, home address, gender, phone number. I didn't get any conversions. I needed more eyeballs to see the ad.

The cpa offer that I was promoting in the OP was a job offer cpa offer in the UK from ClickDealer. I was getting conversions like crazy. I got my first conversion after only spending $10. They've since pulled the offer though.

Not sure what you are arguing.

that only require a little info have a higher conversion rate
Of course - because a 'little info' carries little risk to the person filling out the form.

Add a requirement for phone number and physical address - and most people know that info is likely to be sold and resold online. More risk/problems than a CPA form asking for email only.

Then add a requirement to fill out 'credit card info' - and the risk to privacy and finances increases drastically. What I would expect is that the more information required, the fewer people will fill out the CPA forum...which is what you seem to be saying.

  • How are you monetizing them after the email collection?

When I advertise CPA lead gen offers, I get leads for the merchant.

When I collect leads for myself, I send copywritten email sequences (soap opera sequences, seinfeld emails etc)

I think it makes sense that people generallyprefer free things over paying for something. But if the free offer has no value, then people wont just give you their information. People aren't easy and don't like to feel that way. On the flip side, although people generally like free things, people will gladly pay for a product that they believe will solve their problem (and has proof from testimonials) rather than "trying out" a similar product or offer that seems weak in value.

Isn't a conversion an actual sale? And what does any of your post
have to do with the title that enticed me to click on your thread.

Buyers will buy things that they want or need. If people are selling
useless novelties, they might get sales but who knows.

Wants or needs are things like weight loss products, financial
products such as mortgage loans and insurance, relationship
advice, health and wellness products, etc.

As to people entering their email address, I have alias email
accounts just to receive spammy freebies, and I'm pretty sure
    other people do as well.

Email addresses are a dime a dozen.

Print on demand is smart, keep building on that.
