I would like to publish apps to the Apple App Store. I actually have already done this, under my own name. The thing that I didn't like about this was that when you googled my name, since it was linked to my App Store account, there were a bunch of links from sketchy overseas data websites who outlined all of my apps on the App Store. This looked pretty unprofessional and I ended up taking the apps and account completely off the App Store. I don't want people to become aware that I am doing this by a simple google search.

I read into it, and the only way to not have your name show up as the publisher on the App Store is to start an LLC or similar business account and publish under that name.

I am worried that the same issue will happen when forming an LLC (in Indiana). I worry that registering an LLC under my name (I have a pretty uncommon name), will result in a bunch of stuff that links information on the LLC when you google my name. Does anybody have any experience with this?

I am aware that you can start an "anonymous" LLC in states such as Delaware but do not really want to go through all of that.

I think you are reading too literally. You do not have to register an LLC under your own name. There are guidelines on how to name your LLC so that it does not have the same name as another one, and anyway the secretary of state's office won't allow you to.

An LLC is around $100 to set up online though a registered agent of the state. I am not a lawyer or an accountant and this is not "professional advice", and I recommend you talk to one of those in your state. I do recommend you register in your own state: it keeps things much simpler. I registered elsewhere and have to deal with a thing called a "nexus" which can make me pay home state taxes anyway.

Hey! Just like Jason pointed out, there's no need for you to register a LLC under your own name. You can be creative with how you name your business. The only thing you need to ensure is that a business with the same or a similar name is not registered elsewhere which could confuse consumers.
Creating an LLC is like giving birth to a baby. In the US, an LLC is a separate legal entity, which means, it has its own identity. One of the perks that comes with registering a legal entity separate from yours is that your personal assets and liabilities are ordinarily separate from your LLC's (why is why, "Limited Liability Company"). Therefore, forming an LLC can also help you manage your finances better and prevent any intermingling of funds between you and your business.
Hope I was able to explain it sufficiently.

Your post reads like the basis of a spy novel.

You probably want anonymity to keep competitors
off your back, but you still want buyers to be able
    to find your products.

You do not want certain people to know that you
are selling on Apple Apps, the only way around
using your government name is to register an
LLC, but you don't want to be bothered with the
    hassle.

If you want the LLC simplified, you should talk to
your lawyer. You may also be able to register a
DBA, your lawyer can explain those options.

There are other platforms where you can sell
apps, find ones that allow handles.

For sites that require you to display your legal
name, try using an initial for your first name or
    your surname.

There's not much you can do about the overseas
links, I suggest you stop worrying about those.
