I've been working hard on my YouTube channel and am eager to grow my subscriber count. I'm on a tight budget, so I'm looking for effective ways to increase my YouTube subscribers for free.

I've heard about various techniques such as promoting through social media, optimizing video titles and descriptions, and engaging with the community, but I'm curious to know what has worked best for you.

    Best way to start here is to use the advanced search (search link in white toolbar above) to find previous discussions about YouTube. You may find many of the answers you need and also will be able to narrow your questions somewhat.

    YouTube isn't new and there have been numerous books
    written on the topic of optimizing your efforts there.

    I usually read up on certain things before I engage and I
    would recommend that others do this as well, but to each
    their own.

    As Kay has stated, people should read this forum, there
    is a ton of great information right here.

    Before you can get subscribers, you need people to watch
    your videos.

    People watch videos about topics they are interested in.

    So make high quality videos that people are interested in
    and eventually you will gain subscribers.

    Ensure your titles are keyword rich and that you have
    well-written video descriptions.

    And bear in mind that there are nearly 4M videos posted
    every day, so you are doing great to get any subscribers
    at all.

    Plenty of knowledge already shared on this forum, if you'd care to look. But the first question you should ask yourself when hoping for subscribers is what's in it for them? In other words, what is it that makes you subscriber-worthy?

    This might give you a clue. Instead of being a "content creator" (whatever that is), maybe consider reframing yourself as an entertainer or problem-solver.

    Find what people want. Find a way to provide it to them. Build an audience around that on other social media forms, and point them to YouTube.
