So I started an off-road motorcycle tours company and can't seem to find any customers. I have already tried FB and Google advertising. So far my website has gotten 1000 visitors but I haven't received any inquiries yet. A potential problem might be that I don't have any bikes to rent and people need to come with their own bikes. Any advice is appreciated. I am currently advertising in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Italy and my business is based in Croatia.
What should I do?

The problem may not be 'marketing' - it may be an unworkable business plan. If a person is an experienced biker who TAKES his own bike with him.....he may explore on his own rather than looking for a tour guide. On the other hand, that motorcycle tour adventure would appeal to many travelers looking for new experiences.

Other businesses advertising motorcycle tours in your region offer rental bikes, arrange accommodations for those on the tours, etc.

You don't say if your prices are competitive or what additional services you offer....but I'd think offering rental bikes would be a requirement to succeed in that particular business. If your business plan is not sound, all the marketing in the world won't help.

Yes, the prices are competitive and among the lowest compared to the other businesses. I get that it would be better if I had rental bikes but I'm very young so I have almost no startup capital.

Try joining some groups of motorcycle enthusiasts on FB or in other forums. Ones that include beginners. You can give some basic free advice to build rapport, and then ofer services. At the very least you can do some market research and ask questions as to why some people are doing tours and others not, and what the main factors in their decision making.

  • I totally agree with kay king marketing may not be the problem. My question is do you own any office location in places your advertising??

2nd their is a chance you haven't properly analyze the market before advertising.

3rd you can apply traditional marketing method here billboards, flyers, emails something like that in your on region. pick up the nearest places hotels and restaurants to promote your service I'm sure it will help you get started once your business model become recognizable it will also help you get search in google search.....thumbs up if you find it help full, I need motivation to keep answering and giving solutions to people.

I don't know but maybe thats also a problem, you advertise in different countries but your business is based in croatia..
What about marketing in croatia only first until the ball gets rolling and then add additional countries

The other businesses in the same niche and area get most of their customers from those countries. Do you recommend creating 2 separate ad groups, one for Croatia and one for the countries abroad?

I can't find any FB groups in this topic that allow promotion (none of my posts got approved), but I really like the second tip. Thank you for your help.

You need rental bikes unless all you offer is the land and the trail map.

I wouldn 't. You don't offer bike rentals - at least not yet.
I would think you need to attract customers from Croatia....and those countries that share a border with Croatia. Motorcycle enthusiasts in that broad region are more likely to bring THEIR own bike and - if you're prices are competitive, or you have some special expertise to offer....you can compete for those riders.

Focus on the tours you offer - the long coastal area is perfect for 'water view' tours for bikers in landlocked countries. Croatia has moderate height mountains - totally different tour - and there is an inland area with rivers and other scenic areas such as national parks (do they offer camping?). There are historical areas, etc - all of which you can create special biking tours around.

If you can work with businesses in those areas to provide special access to venues or perhaps experts who can help identify flora/fauna/rocks, etc....think 'entertainment' along with 'motorcycle adventures'.

(I learned about the topography in Croatia in 5 minutes on google - saw some amazing images).

Base your ads around a biking experience...for experienced bikers.

Maybe you've already thought of all these ideas...I don't know. But you have to find your own 'hook' that can overcome not having bike rentals.
