Hosting eBook PDFs on Wordpress site

Wow, it's been a long time since I was here and I'm back at square 1.

I recently released an eBook which did ok but I had to send each one out individually along with bonus files when a payment came in.

How can I automate this?

I have a website and assume that I can store PDFs on it (maybe using a plugin?) then how do I hook it up to Paypal so that when someone makes a purchase they can receive the files instantly?

Thank you so much!

I would definitely advise you to get yourself an auto responder and to also set up a lead capture page.

Yes, use your website or some other storage space, I've used Dropbox since they came online. When you set up your PayPal and are ready to sell it, you will create a button and when you do there is a RETURN URL blank to fill in, most of the time it can go back to a THANK YOU PAGE on your website with the download right there, or it can just open up the pdf. I would change the name every few days of the promotion to prevent it being abused.

You may not need a plug in, most basic web sites have the ability for you to put a pdf file on the site...just depends how much protection you think you need...and what your customers might prefer.

Try not to overcomplicate it, if you are getting sales now, then you have some demand, so to scale it up, use the easy tools that PayPal offers and let your customer download from a thank you page or directly send them to the pdf.

    Any other questions?

GordonJ - Thank you so much!

I can see that for OTO's etc you can just keep adding pages and buttons.

    Scaling up will be exciting.

    Thanks again!

Edit: GordonJ - Thank you so much. I just did what you described above very easily. Onwards and upwards!!

      More OTOs, pages, and buttons

Sounds like some chargebacks just waiting to happen

You better think this through before jeopardizing your PayPal account

        Yes, thank you.

I definitely need to think it through more but I know that my next offering will be great and the bonuses even greater.

Then instead of a paypal buy button on my sales page I will have a opt-in form that will bring them to AWeber where I can then try to make sales through the email series that I'll make.

The next problem to solve is that I already have an AWeber list from which some people bought my eBook so I can't use that list.

To upgrade to AWeber Plus will cost $240 per year which is a lot. Maybe I can just use a free subscription from another provider (though I like AWeber now that I know my way around).

        More thought needed.....

I was not questioning the quality of your product at all.

The issue is that sometimes sellers have too many OTOs,
I have seen four or five, where they offer you upgrades to
this, that, and the other and that's fine.

But the buyers might get carried away in the heat of the
moment, since it is supposedly a one-time deal, and end up
overspending their budget. If that happens, all they have to
do is file a chargeback for any reason and that could cause
problems for a seller with their payment processor, whether
it is PayPal or Stripe or some other one.

Dealing with chargebacks is a drag. I haven't had them due
to OTOs but I have dealt with this first-hand and it can be
          a nightmare.

The AWeber upgrade expense comes out to $20 per month
which isn't so much if you are profitable. It's just another
business expense that we all have to pay to be operational.

There are many free online tools, systems, and platforms
but sometimes it's just easier to pay for services that make
things flow smoother for ourselves and the buyers.

Especially when setting up an autopilot income stream.

Have you considered how digital VAT impacts you?
