What initial steps should a new website take to build high-quality backlinks?

I'm new to SEO, and I have a few questions. I understand that the best backlinks are the ones you earn naturally. However, for a new site that has none of its pages in the top 10 of Google results and is almost receiving no traffic at all, it's unlikely to get any natural backlinks. It doesn't matter how good and useful the content is if no one is visiting the site. What should be their link-building strategy, and what type of links should they aim for?

What I do is go to reputable websites with good content and link back with their content in my blog post .

You can reach out to the respective web sites owners of your choice and let them know that you find their content useful and offer to collaborate.

Do not be afraid to mention the authors name and the name of the website of the original creator that you use in your post to help you build credibility and momentum

I wouldn't go out and buy random links though because that can hinder your rankings and credibility on google .

For a new site, starting with business listings and reaching out to collaborate with reputable sites sounds like a solid plan to build quality backlinks without risking your SEO.

The amount of traffic your site currently gets has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not your content is worth linking to.

The people who make the decisions on whether they want to link to your site or not only care about one thing - whether the information on a page of your site is so valuable, it is worth sending people away from their own site to check out what you wrote.

Start out by finding sites relevant to your niche that definitely link to other websites. Then, create the type of things they tend to link to.
