New website and redirection from various pages

Hello
I wanted basic advice. I am thinking of launching a fashion website for clothing in America. I know it is a high competition induatry and to make inroads....I am thinking of creating pages for some small localities in order to capture business - these number of pages would be in thoudands ....from SEO point of view, if I redirect from pages that rank to my main home site, would that be okay to do? I am thinking of then getting SEO fone on my main homepage?

That's a clever way, but there are things to consider as it might be seen as spammy. I mean thousands of pages to rank and redirect all to the homepage, search engines might tag it as mass-produced content pages. SEO work should be done on your homepage and local pages to build authority and connections with your audience, like investing in a quality long-term strategy.

SEO is a vast subject so you should educate yourself on that topic before
proceeding to develop thousands of pages.

You can do what you want with your own website and redirect however
    many pages you like.

In website development, accuracy is important so you need to learn to
proofread your content, links, code, etc.

You are trying to create a base of external links to your main site. For SEO of your site this is very correct, especially if the links to your site will come from important relevant resources with a rating.
New thousands of pages will not immediately receive a rating. You can even get caught under the filter of search engines, especially if the new pages are not on separate hostings, not on separate domains or with the same content.
I would advise you not to waste your energy on creating your own pages, but to focus on getting links from ready-made resources with a rating by agreement or using services such as AdSense or Aads. First, you will raise your rating and then you can earn on it at the same time as selling clothes.

You can add a link to your main website on these pages.

A little confused on how you are going to get so much traffic from these created pages of yours.

  • Generating localized pages for your fashion website can boost your SEO, but redirecting them to your main homepage is not a good strategy; instead, concentrate on optimizing each page with unique content tailored to each area to improve visibility and search engine rankings.

I wanted basic advice.Launching a new website and want to redirect old pages to the new ones?
Just creating new pages within the same site and need to set up internal redirects?
    Something else?
Also let me know what kind of site you have (e.g., WordPress, custom HTML, using a CMS or framework like Next.js, Laravel, etc.).
