    Getting the first job is the hardest. If you haven't already, then sign up to elance and some more sites listed in the ebook. Forums like this one and DP also have people looking for services.

    Make it easy for the client to say yes. So, have samples of your work available. Have testimonials available (do what you can to get them, worth their weight in gold). And offer a price break to the client - one of the things that works is saying something like

    "I'm new on Odesk , but I've been setting up WP sites (or whatever) for a decade - I really want to be a popular provider at Odesk but I can only do this by offering great work at silly prices - that's why I'm keen on getting this job, and am offering it at such a low fee. "

    Make it clear your only priority is THEIR satisfaction and you'll get your first job. Then your second and so on
