Google has introduced the Google Panda updates, which are sure to change the way website pages are given a page rank. The purpose of this update is to clean up the low quality websites, which a lot of the web is populated with.

Website pages with low quality content will now get lower rankings, while sites that have a good amount of content will get increasing pagerank. This has greatly affected most sites that have a lot of promotions and ads, which saw a great decline in their rankings. Social sites and news sites on the other hand, saw improvement in rankings in just one night.

Google Panda’s goal is to provide searchers easy access to information that is helpful and could provide some value. Even if Google assures that the updates would be for the better, it has already impacted a lot of Ecommerce sites. Several websites saw their rankings change, some of them went up while other went down.
