Avoid this Ezine Articles Mistake!
Posted 2nd November 2008 at 06:39 PM by Michelle Strait
I made a bad mistake with Ezine Articles. I found a good long-tail keyword and created a free blog to promote my product. I submitted an article to Ezine Articles directing traffic to my blog, and got some good traffic. I wanted to see how well the keyword phrase would work.
Since the keyword phrase got good traffic, I decided to get a domain using the phrase. I then wrote a bunch of articles using the keyword phrase in the title. So I had the phrase in my domain AND in the tile of my articles.
My articles were rejected because Ezine Articles doesn't allow the domain name anywhere in the article title. I didn't know that. So I had to either change my domain name or my article titles. Of course, it was easier to change the article titles. The problem? My new keyword phrase doesn't bring as much traffic as the original.
I later modified the articles and submitted to two other article directories using my original keyword phrase in the title. But those directories don't bring as much traffic as EZA.
This is just a word of caution for article marketers.
Thanks for reading!

- Thanks for the tip. I'm just looking into submitting articles to Ezinearticles.
BTW - I just found this article by a post you did on Twitter :-)

I didn't know this either - thanks for the heads-up! Could you possibly keep your title of the articles but just add to them? Like if your website is DebtRelief.com, could you use the title Debt Relief - 5 Tips for Immediate Relief.
Do you think that would pass or is this what you tried? Just curious.
Thanks,
