Social media is by far the most effective strategy. Get on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and Youtube.

One of the best ways to reach your market is by creating a video that could go viral. You can do this on Youtube.

Getting an article or a blog to rank on Google is getting to be nearly impossible. And you may have noticed that Google search results now return a blend of articles and videos. It is actually easier to rank on the first page of search engines using videos, especially those posted to Youtube (Google likes these).

Here are 8 tips to get your video ranked on Youtube:

1. Put keywords in the title

Use your primary and secondary keywords in your headline. Include your call to action.

2. Put matching keywords in the description

Use all 5000 characters allowed in your description because according to Youtube, “the more words you include in your description, the higher your chances of being discovered by searchers.”

Include the title keywords as well as every primary, secondary and related keyword phrases, but don’t repeat unless necessary to avoid getting banned for spamming. You want your content to sound natural and not look like you're just stuffing keywords.

A video transcript is a great way to do this.

3. Put keywords in the tags

Tags should include as many significant keywords including primary and secondary keyword phrases. Use quotation marks to rank high for a particular keyword phrase.

4. Announce your video

Let people know about your video. Announce it on social media. Post it on your Facebook profile, page and in groups. Post it to Linkedin and Twitter. Syndicate it through social bookmarking sites.

5. Ask for Likes and Shares

Ask people to like and share your video. The key here is to ASK.

6. Embed your video

Embed your video on your blog or in an article. Copy the link to your social media wall.

7. Don't accept Flags

Don’t accept a flag in Youtube. Fight each one of them.

8. Chose an appropriate Category

In choosing a category, make sure you choose one with less competition. That will allow you to be featured in your category and could lead to more traffic.
