Hello my blog Readers,
My today’s write up will be on minimalism. It is said that money is the root of all evil but I beg to disagree. It is the things that money can buy that causes human beings to be evil, coupled with greed,it is a deadly combination.
We tend to want more than what we have and crave for things that will never be ours. This is human nature, some will fight it and will live contentedly with what they have but most don’t. They do everything and any means necessary to achieve them.
Wars had started, lives had ended, innocence lost and friendships broken just because we want more. We destroyed what many had built out of their bare hands just so we can covet what they have. Many had suffered in our conquest of greatness and richness but in the end… is it worth it?
With everything that you’ve done, can you still sleep soundly at night or do you just block out the screams, the voices of those who plead, the pain that you had inflicted and the fear that was instilled in their mind. Or do you pretend not to hear when you are really hurting inside for the things that you’ve done.
Wanting more is not wrong but the means in achieving more can turn to evil. Many of us work hard, keep two to three jobs working almost around the clock just so they have enough money to send their kids to school and have a roof on their head. Some even sacrifice working overseas to be able to save enough for their future. If others can sacrifice to achieve a better life, then why can’t you?
But the goal should not be about earning more but being contented with what you have. It is the things that money can’t buy that make life worth living like the sound of your children’s laughter… when was the last time you laughed with them? It might seem ages if you’re always exhausting yourself at work. Spend some quality time with your kids, in time they will grow up and move on. You can never turn back time to watch them grow up again.
Go out and have fun, enjoy the fruits of your hard work. Don’t just save them up in your bank spend some on yourself like a spa. Don’t be afraid to pamper yourself. When you grow old, you won’t be able to do what you’ve missed out. You won’t be able to pay the clock and ask him to return your youth. What is lost is lost so enjoy every second of your life.
Say hello to friends and family, don’t take them for granted. When lives cease to exist, there is nothing that we can do. It is better to realize earlier the importance of having your friends and family around. They give life more meaning and more reason to live it happily. So live your life contentedly, it is in the things that money can never buy that true happiness is found.
Cheers,
Solomon M
