Freelance Writing & Digital Marketing.

Hi, my name is Dave Lynch. It's been a while since I've been truly active on the forum. That's because I quit buying into all the WSO mindset of staying trapped in the "learning" mindset to put on my big boy pants and go out and actually learn by doing.

I learned enough to qualify for a digital marketing degree course which I am doing at the moment. So I thought I'd return to blog a bit more here.

Social media is still part of what I do, but in the broader scheme of things my skill sets revolve around freelance writing, social media, copywriting and SEO.

I self publish under different names on Kindle. Mainly I write, but guess what: writing is marketing and vice versa! What would the web be without text - and persuasive text at that.

Thanks for reading. Always glad to meet new people, so please do say hello or leave a comment.

All the best,
Dave

What is Fiverr and How Does It Work?

I recently checked my Fiverr income and discovered that over the last couple of years I made $5,000 from the site (a few dollars over that, but doesn't 5K just sound much nicer when it's rounded down?)

So - I thought I'd share my expertise, for want of a better word, on how you, too, could make a nice chunk of change from the site.

So, here's the first in a series of posts about Fiverr - what it is and how to profit from it.

Fiverr is one of the most popular freelance sites in the world. It is simple to understand, easy to use and everything only costs $5 with an additional 50 cent processing fee. Fiverr has given thousands of people the opportunity to earn an income online. People all over the world are able to make a living from it. Even people from third world countries have found Fiverr to be a great source of income online.

Of course, thanks to geo-arbitrage, $5 is worth a whole lot more in some countries than others, so in some of those countries, it acts as a main source of income .

The difference between Fiverr and a traditional freelancing site like Upwork is that Fiverr seems a lot less intimidating. The interface is much simpler too. Both sellers and buyers are able to do business on the Fiverr platform very easily. It’s all automated and the buyer’s funds are protected until the seller delivers the work. As a buyer, you can request modifications and order gig extras, etc. There is a lot of flexibility too.

Buyers are also spoiled for choice because of the vast numbers of sellers. Since the sellers can’t compete on price, they have to deliver the most value to stay in the game. This not only benefits buyers but also separates the wheat from the chaff as far as sellers go. There is also transparency in the reviews and ratings. You can easily check on the sellers positive and negative reviews to help you make an informed decision. If a seller has hundreds of positive reviews and maybe 2 or 3 negative ones, he or she is still a good seller.

Sadly, you may run into those few buyers who can never be pleased. There is a messaging system in place for you to contact the seller to discuss details before making the purchase, so that's worth taking advantage of as much as possible to avoid unpleasant situations.

The speed at which the seller gets back to your requests will usually give you an inkling as to how responsive they are.

As a seller, you get a quota of 20 gigs. That gives you enough freedom to list gigs that will be profitable. Even 5 gigs that get daily sales can make you a few thousand dollars a month. Imagine if you had 20 gigs?

As a seller, your goal will be to list 20 gigs that are profitable and rake in sales on a daily basis. This is possible and within reach.

In order to succeed as a seller on Fiverr, you need to look at what gigs are selling well and jump into the competitive Fiverr sea to swim with the sharks without getting eaten. Do not fear the competition or feel inferior just because you are a new arrival. As long as you do not give up, with time, your sales will start to add up and you will climb the Fiverr levels.

As you climb, you’ll notice that you keep getting more orders. If you’re good at what you do, you will have many repeat buyers. What truly matters is that your gig must be in demand and you must deliver a good job and on time!

The gig extras and Fiverr levels are just gravy. Get the basics right and you’ll definitely succeed on Fiverr.

On Facebook? Like Resell on Fiverr to receive info about gigs you can buy elsewhere to resell as Fiverr services.
