Just Suck It Up And Get It Done!

I am currently reading the book "Talent Is Never Enough" by John Maxwell and in it he talks about how to maximize your talent through perseverance, responsibility, and initiative (among other things).
The best part about the book was the section on perseverance. I personally struggled early in my IM career that when I would feel tired or worn out, I would stop working and go watch a movie, hang out downtown, or just do something else that isn't as mind-intense.
I then noticed that on weekends when I had ample free time I would only get 2-3 hours of ACTUAL work done--the rest of the time was watching college football and just goofing off.
It's still something I struggle with today...although it is getting better.
There is a quote in Maxwell's book that is from the LA Laker's general manager (and former player) Jerry West. It states as such:
"You can't get much done in life if you only work on the days you feel good".
That is an awesome quote I remember when I've been working for 3 hours straight and the TV is calling.
