Hi Anna,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. A long tail keyword is just a longer version of a major keyword. For example, let's say you have the keyword "web hosting", a long tail keyword would be a longer version of that keyword such as "business web hosting comparison". It has the "web hosting" keyword within it, but with more words included.
It's when you are extremely specific with what you are searching for, and usually it's at least 3 words. People have been using long tail keywords when optimizing their websites, as the traffic is targeted, and it's usually easier to rank for long tail keywords. The traffic will be less, but if you rank for a lot of them, then the combined traffic can be beneficial.Posted 22nd April 2009 at 07:19 PM by AliciaSpringer

Hi Alicia,
What on earth is "a long tail keyword"? How do you determine "a long tail keyword" for the niche chosen? You can tell I'm very new the Internet Marketing terminology and would appreciate the help.Posted 17th April 2009 at 07:15 AM by annabanks

Great info Alicia. I have been doing the same thing lately. It is so very important to do keyword reseach so you don't waste your time and effort writing articles that get buried by the competition. It's the little things many times that make all the difference.Posted 10th April 2009 at 08:52 AM by Cashman

One of the ways you can go about getting more views is to do keyword research. If your CPA offer is about a "weight loss" product, then you would research all the possible keywords for "weight loss". By default I usually skip the ones that are going to be too difficult to rank for. From researching this keyword using the Free Word Tracker Tool, you'll get a lot of results. What you are looking for is a long tail keyword that has the possibility of being ranked well. You write an article based on this long tail keyword, submit it to EzineArticles.com.
For example, sticking with the weight loss niche, let's say you chose this keyword "best proven weight loss pills". When you write your article, you would ensure that the keyword is in your title, along with being in the body of the article. Do not repeat it too often (no more than three times) as it may get rejected due to "Excessive Keywords". Ensure the article is written in a natural, and helpful tone as well, and that your resource box has a good call to action that will get the user to click and view your offer.
Repeat this process for every article you write.
1) Select Your CPA Offer.
2) Find a long tail keyword based on the niche of the offer.
3) Write an insightful article based on the keyword.
4) Submit the article to EzineArticles.com
Rinse and repeat. Not all of your articles will rank well, but some of them will, and your views will be decent. Being a top author within a category can help with your views as well, so continue to submit high quality content to rise in the rankings.Posted 31st March 2009 at 10:17 AM by AliciaSpringer

Usually what I do is if I know in advance I'm going to mask a domain name, I use Godaddy since there "masking" and "forwarding" feature is free. I register the domain name through Godaddy, then I use their URL forwarding option, and select the "Masking" option. I input the actual CPA offer URL as the masked link. Whenever anyone then visits my domain name, they automatically see my CPA offer, but masked through Godaddy's 'URL Forwarding" feature.Posted 30th March 2009 at 08:53 AM by AliciaSpringer
