A Test For Local Offline Business Owners...

You've laid out some good markers to track the success of your website and to gauge the success of your client's website.

Local SEO is extremely important for local businesses because it can give your website a boost and a Page 1 ranking in Google for geo-targeted searches.

I'm interested in offering my local clients services like, client reactivation, installation of autoresponders and Local Listings in the major search engines (Google, Yahoo and Bing). The only service I am really knowledgeable about is past client reactivation. So, I have a lot of learning to do so I can offer my clients a more comprehensive service.

Jagged, I like the way you've positioned your company as the local expert. I aspire to do that same thing. I'm in the early stages of getting my business off the ground -- I don't even have my first client signed on yet but I giving things a lot of thought to eliminate as many mistakes as I can.

Thanks, again, for this insightful article.

Some Do’s & Don’ts for Local Business Website Design

    Jagged,

This is a very good article. You've laid out a laundry list of things to look out for and be mindful of when setting up or building your website.

I agree, wholeheartedly, that you cannot be careful enough of forwarding money to third-world countries to build your website or provide some internet service. If they do not have a stellar track record with solid references, I would not do business with them -- keep it local.

I'm putting my affiliate marketing venture on the back burner and will be focusing all my attention on offline marketing and consulting.

I desperately need to get a website up but I've been contemplating over purchasing a premium WordPress theme or just setting up a Squeeze Page for starters. What do you suggest?

That seems like a great way to open their eyes. Hope you don't mind if I use that on some prospects.
