Don't Be Afraid of the Word No

Posted 27th February 2012 at 04:02 PM by PattC

One stumbling block that many business people face, is the fear of hearing the word “no.” What does no mean? I don’t want what you’re selling, get out of my face, and don’t call me again. It’s no wonder that so many people run for the hills, when they hear that awful word.

I read an interesting story in the Success Principles by Jack Canfield, which tells how one man experienced success, even after hearing the word “no” over and over again. I know you’ll be just as inspired by...

Posted 27th February 2012 at 03:52 PM by PattC

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if your business is tanking, your self-esteem will not be far behind. Business is too slow, and you’re not able to create a good income. Maybe going into business for yourself was a bad idea, and you should have waited for the economy to recover, enrolled in some business courses, or had a nice savings account balance to tide you over until your business took off. This morning when I opened my email, I discovered that 118 were in my spam folder. What exactly is spam? Spam are emails that you’re not expecting, and are generally sent to a group or mailing list to promote a product or service. Installing a spam blocker can control these bandwith-eating, time-wasting messages, but since the internet is public, some will still make it through anyway.

Let me give you some examples of spam that are currently in my spam folder. I can win a new Kia Sorrento...

Getting Back on the Horse

Posted 23rd February 2012 at 12:18 PM by PattC

I’ve always been on the adventurous side, so when a friend wanted to go horseback riding, I was eager to give it a try. Wouldn’t you know it, I was given the biggest horse, and he was also the most cantankerous horse I had ever seen. Carefully mounting from the side, I swung into the saddle, and we were off. I tried to guide him with the reins, but either he got his wires crossed or I did, and he kept walking into bushes on the trail. After a few times of this, my horse decided that enough was...
