New to affiliate marketing

I need a push in the right direction please how effective is affiliate marketing with blogs and are there any tips to it PLus how much should I pay per click on PPC advertising

Got my first sale for $1900!!

Here's how I did:
I built a relationship over the phone with a complete stranger over the course of the last 3 weeks, speaking about once a week. Anyway I first offered him a price of $3000 for 4 autoresponders at $1200 12 months maintenance.

Then a week later he called me back in regards to pricing and got me down to $2500 + $600 for 12 months maintenance.

He was interested but said he's going to be getting new websites made soon so he can't do it right now. Maybe...
