I love finding profitable niches, creating and setting up WordPress blogs and seeing them on the first page of Google

Selecting, harvesting and growing blogs that profit naturally, now that is fun!

If you are interested in creating passive profits streams like this, then you have hopefully found a great resource here. I love helping others so if you have any questions about WordPress, content development, climbing your way to top of the Google, feel free to just ask!

I just went through a terrible time in transferring a WordPress website to GoDaddy hosting.

I kept getting stuck on Step 4 where Backupbuddy was unable to connect to the server.

I figured it out and wanted to share it here in hopes that it may help out a fellow Warrior or two

The FASTEST way to do this is to simply unzip your original backup, remove the .htaccess file altogether, re-zip your backup and upload it as normal.

Backup Buddy will generate an error/warning sign but just proceed past this and continue with the normal installation.

Another way is to upload BOTH the .zip AND the EXTRACTED version of the backup.

After they are uploaded to the server, edit the .htaccess file on the server and remove EVERYTHING AFTER the #WordPress and resave the file.

Go ahead as normal through your importbuddy.php and when you get to step 2, select 'Advanced Settings' and 'proceed without extracting files'

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, just ask!

All the best,

Leah

Leah, this is an EXCELLENT post! Thank you for going through the hassle to figure this out.

I don't have Godaddy hosting but one of my customers just asked why he was getting that error on Step 4. I just sent him this post and hopefully it'll work for him.

Again, thank you for posting this...I personally find Godaddy hosting to be incredibly non-User friendly. lol

    Cheers
