Lee wrote first press release on October 28 1906 after a brutal accident. More than 50 people lost their lives in a three-car train accident at Atlantic City. Lee convinced the train authorities to issue a public notice following accident. He also urged them to provide special train service to the site of the accident. The service was demanded for the press to cover accident.

This first press release was published in New York Times on October 30, 1906 and was named as Statements from the Road.
