The Internet Marketing Success Game

Before you start to play the internet marketing success game to win, you have got to define the rules of engagement for you and for your business.
Have you ever wondered about the integrity of some of the really successful business owners that you see out there in the world? They can do some pretty sleazy things.
For years, I watched some of the shops here in El Paso turn some really sizable amounts of money. I looked at their business practices and I really wondered why people would even consider taking their vehicles to them. And, they weren't asking for low prices even though they were delivering sub-par performance.
As we began the quest for internet marketing success, I saw the same thing online. People would use and abuse their status in order to make sales and recruit people. I even met a couple of them and just walked away feeling slimed. But, they were doing something that I wasn't; they were turning money hand over fist.
Could it just be that I was jealous? After all, I was out there every day busting my tail to give really good value to people and to help them make a success out of their business and I was scraping to make any sales. I really began to wonder if my ethics and morals were going to be the death of my internet marketing success.
You know what, it's okay to go about doing business with a total lack of ethics. It will work. I've seen it. But, the real test is in whether or not you can live with yourself and how long you are going to be in business.
The transmission shop goes through ups and downs financially, but both Bob and I can meet up with customers outside of the shop and not have to hide from them. My internet marketing success through MOBE was slow to get moving but I am sure that it will continue to grow and that I will have a viable business for years to come.
Each of us has to define the rules of engagement that we are going to use to find our internet marketing success.
You will see injustices out there in the world but you have got to pursue your excellence for the sole sake of going on the journey. The point is to improve ourselves and to provide something of value to others. Then, the results will come.
Your first step, before we go into what you need to look at to develop your rules of engagement, is to recognize that you are awesome "as is". All of us can refine ourselves and all of us can and should be growing on a daily basis.
Integrity, character and honor are much hard to hold onto in the internet marketing success game but taking the easy road and holding to dis-empowering beliefs won't allow us to stay in our power.
Take some time to craft and live by the rules of engagement that you set for your life and for your internet marketing success.
Connect to your core values
Really take the time to decide what your core values are.
I know that some of my core values are commitment, loyalty and compassion. They definitely affect the way that I play the internet marketing success game because I won't bring people onto my team that I can't work with on a consistent basis or that I know have no chance of success in this industry. I don't flit from one company to another taking advantage of the latest launch.
Define your standards
You want to make sure that the bar is set really high for you and for your business. However, you don't want to set them too high that you can't reach them.
Once you have reached one standard, raise the bar a little higher and make the refinements that will get you to the next level.
Define your intentions and the desired outcome that spells internet marketing success for you
There is no way that you are going to hit the target if you have absolutely no idea what the target is.
Define your tolerances
My business coach is always telling me that you get out of life what you tolerate. If you can tolerate living paycheck to paycheck or not getting all of your bills paid, that is what you will get.
Look at the things that you are tolerating in your life right now and make the decision as to whether or not you are going to go on accepting it.
To change your tolerance level you are going to have to change your mindset, your belief system and refuse to accept anything but excellence in your life and internet marketing success.
