Is Finding Your Affiliate Marketing Success Fun

As entrepreneurs we have a tendency to take ourselves and our quest for affiliate marketing success just a little too seriously.
In our Power Up Call this morning J.T. Debolt was talking about the Joker from the Batman movie. Just before he attacked anybody he asked them, "Why so serious?" We need to ask ourselves this question when we are looking to find our affiliate marketing success. I mean, shouldn't we be having some fun.
I realize that there are a lot of things that we are going to tense up about when we are running our own businesses. I do it with the affiliate marketing business and I down Rolaids like I owned stock in them at the transmission shop. I mean there are the skills that we have to learn, the marketing and the results that may or may not be coming in.
But, we get so tied up in all of the fear and the overwhelm that we flat out forget how really cool this is. After all, we don't have to answer to a boss or play office politics.
There are armies of people out there that would love to have their own business but they lack the guts to get out there and actively do it. We should be celebrating the bravery that we have shown in taking up the banner and marching toward our ever increasing affiliate marketing success.
It's not easy, but we do it. We have to do some really serious things in order to stay in the game. We have statistics again us. There is a 95% failure rate of all small businesses during the first year that they are in business. So, it is a big deal that we are here.
House Cleaning and Affiliate Marketing Success
Strange comparison, I know. The people who know me well know that I do not have the house cleaning gene. I absolutely hate to do it. So, I make it fun. I dance with the vacuum cleaner. I have a puppy that chases mops so I make it a big production so that she's entertained. I write mean things on the furniture with the spray wax.
At Southwest Gear, we are constantly doing something that will make each other laugh or at least get a rise out of someone. We have taken jokes and practical jokes to a fairly high level just to keep our sanity.
While doing all of the things that I need to do in order to reach the level of affiliate marketing success that I want to reach, I find ways to make it fun. I type with a song going in my head to see if I can type to the beat.
I celebrate my successes, even if it's just one small sale. I celebrate the success of the people on my team with them and I congratulate the people in the facebook groups that are doing well.
I make it fun. There should be joy in everything that we do and we really do have to stop taking things so seriously.
This isn't Rocket Science
Getting to your affiliate marketing success is not rocket science. You do the right things in the right order. You scale up the things that work and you stop doing the ones that don't. Easy, or at least not overly complicated.
With MOBE we are given 21 steps to follow. Our coach steps us through them the first couple of times and then we are on our own. No need to change them up while you are new to the game. You can tweak and personalize them when you have some success under your belt and you feel that you really want to give it a go.
Transition
One of the biggest stressors that anybody can go through is that of transition. Just think back when you got married, had a child, or moved, it was stressful.
The same thing applies when you enter into affiliate marketing and leave your job.
Suddenly, you are out there on your own. The burden of everything lies on your shoulders.
There are times that you just have to re-frame your thinking so that you see it as something that you can enjoy.
Balance
We have to make sure that we have balance in our lives.
If you think that you are spending too much time on your pursuit of affiliate marketing success, then you need to take a serious look at what you are doing. Are you sticking with the things that will produce income? Are you using the right tools?
Are you spending enough time on it? If you aren't, and you are seeing no results, you feel guilty and that starts to stress you out.
You want to have a measure of balance in your life so that get time with friends and family, your hobbies, time to just veg out with a book or a movie so that you aren't becoming a workaholic.
Surround Yourself
You are going to be spending a lot of time in your office; so, make it a place that is relaxing to you and triggers your success. Keep it clean and light and surround yourself with pictures and objects that remind you why you are doing what you are doing.
Surround yourself with happy people so that you start a ripple effect going through your business. People want to work with people who are having fun with their life and who believe in themselves and what they do.
Finding affiliate marketing success is an adventure. It's fun. Embrace it and enjoy the ride.
