The Shift Needed For Affiliate Marketing Success

There are a lot of skill sets that are needed to achieve affiliate marketing success, however, the most important shift is to the entrepreneurial mindset.
When most people come into MOBE, they have dollar signs dancing in their eyes. They aren't looking to build a long term business and that is why it is so important that we begin to coach them into the entrepreneurial mindset as soon as possible.
Making the switch from being an employee to having your own business is complicated and no matter what funnels you have in place or how much traffic you are sending to it, if you don't make the mindset shift, affiliate marketing success is going to remain an elusive thing that you just can't seem to get or hold onto.
Change your language
Whether you are talking to yourself, a customer or a team member, you have to watch not just the words that you use but the intent that you have behind the words.
Let's just take a look at the idea of "hump day". This phrase came into place decades ago and it basically means that once you are through that day it is all downhill until payday and weekend comes. As entrepreneurs, we can no longer think that way. Every day is just one more day where we can take our affiliate marketing success to another level by putting out the very best that we have to offer.
Entitlement
I have run a transmission shop for almost 25 years now and I watch the employees that we have. Most don't care about the quantity or the quality of the work that they put out but boy you better hand them a paycheck at the end of the week. That's all that they are here for. Their plan is to put in their time and collect their pay.
I was very much like that. Now, to be honest, and brag a little, I did care that I put my very best forward everyday that I was at work. However, if I hadn't gotten paid, I would have been off to the next job.
Imagine my surprise when I started my own business and found out that everybody else got paid before I did. If I didn't do the very best that I could, I didn't make any money and at times my Rolaid bill was kind of high.
With a brick and mortar business, you have to be good enough to not only support the business but the families of all of your employees as well as you.
With an affiliate marketing business, you don't have to worry about paying rent, utilities and employees but you do have to make sure that you make enough money to support yourself and your lifestyle. In order to do this, you have to work your tail off and constantly be increasing the value that you put out into the world.
Fair warning here, this switch can suck the wind right out of you.
Embrace risk in order to reach affiliate marketing success
When you enter the race for affiliate marketing success, you are going to have to assume a lot of calculated risk. Try to focus on the reward over the pain so that you don't go running and screaming into the desert.
As entrepreneurs we are breaking the mold and have got to constantly be innovating so that we can present solutions to the challenges that are facing the world if we are going to remain relevant.
This is going to require you to have a great deal of belief in yourself and in your purpose. It is not something that you are going to be able to give lip service to when you are coaching your clients or team members, you are going to have to lead by example and push the boundaries every single day. Here's a thought for you, if it feels inconvenient then it is probably perfect.
Collaboration over competition
It used to be that entrepreneurs had to have the mindset of clawing their way to the top. That is not the answer anymore.
You want to find the strong people that are out there, even if they are competitors and form a collaboration with them so that both of you can move to the next level of affiliate marketing success. This is the way that masterminds are created.
The only competition that you should have in your life is with yourself. Challenge yourself to raise the standards of excellence that you live by a little bit every day.
If you are really dedicated to achieving affiliate marketing success, then constantly work on your personal growth, that is the game changer.
