Entrepreneurial Freedom

Many of us enter into online marketing because we want entrepreneurial freedom, but...

that freedom of entrepreneurship is frightening. It goes against everything that we have been indoctrinated into believing during our lives, that of security.
Joseph De Sena writes in his book "Spartan Up", "We believe that there are things we can do and things we can't and we come to accept that distinction. It creates our everyday reality and it makes us feel secure because we think we know what to expect of the world and of ourselves. Even if we are completely and utterly dissatisfied with life, it is a dissatisfaction that offers a certain sense of security. We know the rules. We know the boundaries and we become comfortable being their prisoner."
If you have been in online marketing for very long, you have come across people who actually enjoy being imprisoned. They are institutionalized to the social norms. They have created mental and emotional constructs that keep them confined to jobs and lives that they hate; however, they will not take any kind of action that will take them out of the security net that encompasses them. They are indoctrinated into the rhythms of an environment of safety.
As entrepreneurs we have so much freedom: financial, time and creative. We can go out and we can determine the direction of our lives.
Entrepreneurial freedom is the opposite of security. In fact, they are polar opposites.
We, though, are also drawn to security especially when our businesses are in the early stages and the growth is consistently up and down.
I know that you have seen the articles that have been written about the recidivism of prisoners. Long term prisoners who are released often re-offend within a very short period of time so that they are sent back to jail. We wonder why anyone would want to do that - would want to return to that nightmare environment. They do it because they need the security that the system provides for them, they cannot handle the freedom.
Entrepreneurial freedom is the ultimate freedom except when we build the prison walls of can and can't in our minds.
Listen to all of the can's and can'ts that you hear when you present your opportunity to some people. They can't come up with the money. They can't come up with the time. They have set up the walls and the only thing they can do is reject the opportunity.
We have to commit to tearing those walls down brick by brick. You not only have to coach yourself through this but you are going to need to help your prospects and business partners batter down their walls.
If you believe that you can build a successful online marketing business, you will. You will not worry about how battered you become during the process as you will know that the entrepreneurial freedom that you are working toward is rising up to meet you.
Starting a business is a lot like running a marathon, you have to get your mind totally involved in the process. You have got to fall down and get back up and keep running.
We cannot force our minds to accept freedom. It is a process. It is a maturation into an idea whose time has come.
A prison is built on the concept of security, of staying safe even if it's painful because you know what to expect.
Success is built on having a plan and a vision that allows you to live your dreams, but to truly experience entrepreneurial freedom you have to drop the reigns of safety and reach out for help from those who have traveled the path before you.
I want to thank my coach, JT DeBolt and his MOBE Power Up call this morning for the essence of this blog.
Be sure that you leave your comments before you leave to find your entrepreneurial freedom.
