Stopping Online Marketing Success

There is only one person that can stop your online marketing success and that is you and the excuses that you conjure.
I was reading an article today by Bernard Marr in the Huffington Post and I was struck by the fact that the excuses people put out there to stop their success are the same everywhere whether you are looking at someone just thinking about starting their business of a multi-million dollar company looking to expand.
I don't have the money
Since my online marketing success comes from a top tier company, I hear this a lot. I even thought about using it at the time that I was looking at entering the business. I, though, thought back on some advice that one of my first mentors gave me in business: If you had all the money in the world, would this be a good investment? yes: do it & no: don't do it.
The truth is that whether you have $1 or $1million you are going to use this excuse if will stop you from moving further into the unknown.
I don't have the time
From the time that I was really young, my mother always said that if you want something done, give it to someone who doesn't have the time.
The truth here is that we all have the same 24 hours in a day. How we use those hours tells us exactly where our priorities lie. If they lie with online marketing success, you will find us sitting at our computers working on the things that we need to do in order to get our message out. You will not find us sitting in front of a television set.
It could be that you don't have the time because, hey, you may just not want success in this field badly enough.
I've never done this before
Most people have not done online marketing before. There's a first time for everything. We had never walked before, we had never driven a car before and as we go through life there are going to be a lot of things that cross our path that we have never done before, but we do them.
Every journey starts with a first step.
I don't have the skills to achieve online marketing success
When I first got into online marketing, I didn't have most of the computer skills needed to do anything past doing a Google search or sending a personal email.
After I got into MOBE], I was given coaches who helped me gain the skill set that I needed to build my business. Prior to that I Googled. I found videos on how to do things, I found ebooks on how to do things, I got on webinars to learn things. They are all there and they are FREE.
You can also head off to the library and find all kinds of FREE books that will teach you how to do just about anything.
Get onto your company's Facebook page and ask questions or find a coach that will help you to reach your goals.
If you want or need to learn something to get to your online marketing success and you show a little bit of ingenuity, you'll find the answers.
The conditions aren't right
No, they probably aren't. They never will be. If you wait for life to be perfect, you are never going to do anything.
Mr. Marr in his article likened this to going fishing and waiting for the fish without putting the hook in the water.
? says I can't/shouldn't/am not good enough to do this
Everyone has an opinion. I can't tell you how many people told me that I was too much of an introvert to do online marketing and that I would never make it. I am so glad I didn't listen.
If it helps, think of it this way, nothing good has ever come from a group consensus.
It is not easy to achieve online marketing success but it is doable. First though you have to hang up your excuses because they are just about as useful to you as a pocket on a frog.
