Losing Your Affiliate Marketing Team

Losing your affiliate marketing team. As Martha Stewart would say, "That's a good thing!"

The day will come when the people who were on your affiliate marketing team, who shared your vision, who believed in you, take off and go their separate ways.
You are left sitting there wondering, "What did I do wrong?" You start to second guess everything about your business and your vision. You start to second guess yourself as an individual.
The truth is that this is not an indictment again you, sometimes things just change.
If it is any consolation, this defection doesn't just happen in the affiliate marketing industry. We have seen employees and partners at Southwest Gear leave giving no real reason. And if you are honest, you have seen it in your personal life as well. There are people that have come and gone out of my life over the years, sometimes with sadness attached to it and sometimes to my great and glorious joy.
You change and they change.
People on your affiliate marketing team self-select
You put out all of your marketing, letting people know who you are and what your vision is and then inviting them to join you in your affiliate marketing business. They select to work with you based on the message that you are putting out.
Then, you start to change. You gain more skills and you become more successful and confident. You and your message start to change because of your new status. The people on your team begin to become afraid of the success that you are having and have a hard time adjusting to the growth that has taken place in you. They walk away.
They only knew you as the person you started out as. This is the same reason that you will see personal friendships come to an end. You grow and you stop being the person that they knew and it makes them uncomfortable. I know that I have had to let a couple of family members move out of my inner circle because of this and their need to protect me from the challenges and changes that I have had to make in my journey.
Think of it as each of you taking a different for in the road and wish them well on the journey that they have chosen. Then, get on with your journey.
This is your time to stay firm in your vision and your purpose.
You are going to change too
Remember where I just told you, 2 seconds ago, to stay firm in your purpose? That's going to change over time, too.
I would never in a 100 years have predicted, 10 years ago that I would be writing a book on empowerment and building 3 businesses simultaneously or that one of those businesses would be affiliate marketing.
As you become more clear in your vision and your purpose in life, you are going to see a multitude of changes happening in your life. Embrace them, build a new team and go full out.
This will definitely be disturbing to many people along the way and you are going to find that they will either depart or you will walk away. Just don't do it in a way that doesn't allow you to come back together again should your paths cross again at a later date.
Manage your expectations
Understand that as you grow in your life and in your affiliate marketing business, this phenomena of losing team members is going to happen. That way you will not take it so personally when it happens.
Know, too, that as some leave, others will come in and fill their place.
Stay resolute in walking your path and accept the changes. The right people will come along to help you move forward.
Conduct yourself with integrity and infuse your vision into all of your marketing and you will attract the right people into your life and into your business.
Change is a part of life. It is a part of the process. It is a sign of your growth as a human being and the growth of your affiliate marketing business.
