No matter how we define our affiliate marketing success there are ways that we can self-sabotage ourselves.

I can't tell you how many times I have gotten so close to my affiliate marketing success that I could literally taste it, just to sabotage the whole thing and get the golden opportunity of starting all over. It was after the last time I did it that I talked to my coach and he gave me these four silent assassins and asked me to see which ones I was giving free reign to.

Comparing ourselves to others

This is where you keep checking on Facebook to find out how others are doing either within your company or in the industry as a whole. You set up a competition with them in your mind and you stop taking the actions that will drive your affiliate marketing success. You begin to allow the success that they are having guide the feelings that you have about yourself.

You want to compete only with yourself.

Make it a game so that it doesn't seem to be too taxing and, frankly, it's a lot more fun. Push yourself to be the best that you can be so that you win the game.

Honor your unique skills. There are a bunch of us that are marketing MOBE but there is no way that I can market the same way as some of the top earners in the business. I've tried and failed miserably. The only way that I will get to my affiliate marketing success is to build my business, my way. (Look Ma, I'm Burger King!)We all have unique talents and skills and there is not a one of us that has the same perspective on the world. Market you. Hey, not everybody will relate to the top earners and their methods but they will want to follow you.
Celebrate your success and the success of others.

Excuses for not having affiliate marketing success

One of the things that I have found from studying the great leaders of business is that they refuse to make excuses and if they do, they pull themselves out of it really fast.

You know all of the things that you need to do in order to achieve your affiliate marketing success and yet how many times have you caught yourself saying that you don't have the money to run that solo ad or you don't have the time to create that e-book? We all do it. The problem with making excuses is that the excuse becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.

Once I got past I don't have the money and quit using it to deny my success, I started to earn more money. And believe me there were times that I had to get really creative to come up with the cash that was needed to run paid traffic. I found that it all came down to a one word question, "How?" Then, you get quiet and you listen to the inner genius and do what it tells you to do.

As soon as your mind knows that affiliate marketing success is a priority for you, the answers will come to you and you can throw the excuses out the window.

Indecision

As affiliate marketers, we all have talked to people that are interested in joining our business but they just can't make up their mind to actually take the step. What we don't think about is how many times we, too, let our fear drive our indecision about taking the actions that we need to in order to reach our affiliate marketing success.

There are only two answers to any question, yes or no. You have a 50% chance of making the right decision. Not great odds but much better than the 0% odds of making no decision at all. This doesn't always work out well and you don't find out until you have lost time and money sometimes. Chalk it up to experience that can be used the next time a decision needs to be made.

Once you get to the point that you actually start making decisions, you will find that you are not under all of the stress that you were in while you were wavering.

Bowing down to fear

I know that you have all heard all of the platitudes about fear not being real, they're in every self-help book out there; so, I'm not going to spout any off here. Fear though is the basis for all of the aforementioned assassins.
Keep feeding your courage, absorb the pain and the fear and resolve to not give fear the backbone that it needs to make your life miserable.

You will find that you will get to your affiliate marketing success faster and easier when you eliminate these four silent assassins.
