Cutting Unnecessary Costs

I've been a forum lurker her from some time, and I've been learning a lot about marketing here thanks to many great people.

My cup of tea however is economics, saving and money. SO I was a bit shocked when I came across this this thread "Should I Sell My Iphone?".

The original poster was having some difficulty finding work and making money, so he naturally wondered if he should sell his iphone stating he could get around $300 for it.
