A marketer of my acquaintance posted a complaint on Facebook that he's got a new product out which is password-protected. He sends the password in the initial email when you join the customer list. And someone replied to that email asking what the password was.

They also quoted the original email, which clearly showed the password in it.

So here's how I was an obnoxious dick.

First, I looked up the classic password scene from the Marx Brothers movie "Horse Feathers," in which the password is "swordfish" - and I posted it in response to the marketer's Facebook update.

Then I went and bought the product, which of course meant I needed to get the password email myself.

When I received it, I replied to the email... quoting the entire original message, just like the annoying customer... and said

I typed "swordfish" but it doesn't work.
Yes, I bought the product just so I could make that joke... and I posted the YouTube video just so I knew the target would understand it.
