Almost everyone with a business, or wanting to make money, is interested in getting established online.

This means creating an online presence, getting recognized by search engines and driving traffic to your dedicated web pages.

Whether your own website, an auction, or your own real world business ... you will make more money if you have more visitors.

Obviously your product or service needs to be sellable and presented well, but chances are if thousands of people see your video, at least a few will buy.

What Is A Viral Video?

A viral video is one that spreads rapidly, being passed from one internet user to another, just like a virus spreads in the real world.

As people reach out and share this video to their friends, the effect expands rapidly. If you imagine 10 people passing it to 10 people, you have 100 possible viewers, however when it is passed on, say 10 times each, you have 1000 and then 10,000 ... and so on.

The effect and potential is massive, as people email, tweet, like, pin, +1 and generally pass the video to all their friends and online connections.

How To Create A Viral Video

This is worth the effort, as search engines love videos, they love to see traffic and they really respect social sharing. Hence, if you can create a successful viral video, you stand a chance of rocketing your site/business!

So, let’s have a quick look at some of the main ways you can help to make a video become a viral success:

Grab attention! Make sure your video intro (the first 0-15 seconds) and your title make the viewer want to see what happens.

Short and sweet! The KISS, or ‘keep it simple stupid’ approach is often best. Short and direct videos are better. People don’t have a lot of time, so two minutes or less applies here.

Cause a reaction! Emotions cause people to leave comments and share something with there friends. Make someone laugh, sit back amazed, or even hit the screen in anger and chances are they will show a friend.

Work out who could share the video (particularly those with items in it, or connected with its productions).

Choose your release date - surprisingly the internet is usually busiest on weekdays, not weekends. This is because many surf online at work.

Although these points will help your video go viral, you need to make sure you are ready for the viral effect too. If it takes off, you could see thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of views daily.

You DO NOT WANT TO WAIST THIS TRAFFIC. This is what you are working towards, but you also want to make sure you can take full advantage. Free gifts, promotions, email capture forms, memberships, social media pages and many other aspects should all be in place long before you launch.

After all, you want respect, you want attention and you want money and members from this viral traffic!
