Offline marketing is very competitive in the sense that even some online marketers can easily tap into this area. I've been struggling during the past 2 months, trying to sell my first mobile website... In vain.
I bought some materials here on the WF (specially WillR WSOs) in order to increase my chances to lose some deals, but I always received a NO NO NO NO. Arghhhh. I was so desperate, but I didn't give up.
I then decided to try the following strategy:
I put together some infographics on mobile marketing statistics, with 2 qr codes. The first redirects people to a an educational video on mobile marketing (thanks to you WillR) with a form at the bottom of the video where users can opt in and request more information. The second compares 2websites, one which is not mobile optimized and the other one which is mobile optimized.
Then I printed the flyers and and I went started to distribute them in restaurants, barbershops, local businesses, malls, in my neighborhood. On the flyer, I give an promotion to any business that hires me to build their website (1 month free maintenance). Two days letter, DRING DRING DRING.... My phone rang, it was a lawyer who came across my flyer in a restaurant and scanned both QR Codes. He was amazed by the way everything was explained on the marketing material, and directly requested one mobile website for his business. $948 setup fee and $39 monthly fee. I sold my first mobile website.
I was so proud of myself and I gave courage o work hard.
An advise to anyone trying to sell mobile websites: if you are starting and don't have an established business yet, you know it's gonna be tough. Spend some money on offline marketing materials. That's what I did. I spent over $200 on business cards, flyers, gas, etc. and I made $948 with recurring income. It was worth the investment. It worked for me, hope it will work for you too.
I'll keep you posted, and again thanks WillR.
