I thought I add here a post I did for the forums - hope it's interesting
I've read a lot of guru advice and bought and trialed a lot of tools. Including SENukeX, traffic travis, market samuri, UBD, AMR etc. I've also used fiverr gigs.
When it comes down to it unless you understand how to build a backlinking strategy you will be wasting your money. You need to understand building a tiered approach and also how to mix and match in stuff like link wheels, video, docstoc etc. Just using the tools will not give you success.
That said I think that tools can help a lot. In particular scrapebox. Once you understand how to use it it can be very powerful in finding sites that are in your niche.
My strategy is simple:
Use Traffic Travis to find out the competitor backlinks to find out whether a keyword will work
Build a list showing hard to easy keywords to win.
Pick 3 keywords, 1 hard and 2 easy
Use fiverr to get open linkwheels built for each of the keywords all pointing to the money site - Build web 2.0 sites with at least 3 pages preferably 5 to 10 and then have them link randomly to each other and the money site.
Use fiverr to get stuff posted on YouTube, SlideShare, Docstoc and Scribd again to the money site
Now get someone to run an senukex campaign on each of the web 2.0 sites, again fiverr will do this.
To do this you need 3 fully sup articles at 70%+ uniquness
If you do 6 linkwheels at $5 = $30
then add in the posting another $5 to $10
NukeX compaign for each link wheel $6 x $5 = $30
$70 in total
Run it over a month and see the difference!
