The Internet Marketing New World Order

The game has changed and there's a new sheriff in town. His name is New World Order, or NWO for short.

Now, I'm not talking about the NWO that you're used to hearing about. Quite honestly, I don't follow that mumbo jumbo. I'm talking about something that directly relates to Internet marketing and whether or not you have a snow ball's chance in hell of ever seeing a dime off the Internet.

Ignore this warning at your own risk.

I started this insanity in 2003. I was out of work for 3 years at the time and realized that I wasn't going to be finding a new job easily...not at MY age.

So I embarked on the most fascinating journey of my life...the attempt to actually make money selling stuff online.

I was ripe for the picking.

I fell for every get rich quick scheme that you could think of. It took me quite a few years to finally sort through all the crap and come up with a legitimate business model.

And I thought I had it all figured out too. And for quite a few years, I did. I had the basics down, wrote well, came out with good products and the money followed.

Then they changed the rules.

When I say "they" I am referring to Google.

See, once upon a time, you could write a quality article, submit it to Ezine Articles and a few other directories and get a decent amount of traffic to your offers.

But like with everything else, the bad apples ruined it for the good people. Because of all the crap that people started submitting to EZA just to make a buck, Google finally threw its arms up in the air and said "ENOUGH!"

Article directories took a MAJOR hit and suddenly, even good articles get very few views. So, if you want to make your living through content creation, you have to go about it a little bit differently.

How?

For starters, put your original content on YOUR site first. Of course you should have always done that, but now it's more critical than ever. Build your own authority BEFORE you build somebody else's.

As far as syndication goes, sure, submit to EZA because every view counts but don't stop there.

Look around for authority sites on your own that are looking for quality content. Offer them exclusive deals in exchange for a link in your signature back to your site.

Not every high ranking site out there writes its own material. Many of them get their material through syndication. The reasons why go beyond the scope of this article. Suffice it to say, if you make them an offer that they can't refuse, they'll take you up on it.

Imagine getting your articles published on sites that are at the top of the SERPs for various keywords that you yourself are fighting for.

Does this require some leg work? Sure does. Not every site is going to say yes. But the ones that do are going to be worth making the effort.

I'll get more in depth in later issues. Soon, I'll have a way for you to get onto an exclusive list that will be content first. That's a promise.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Thanks Steven, interesting read. Ezine Articles is not my preferred first point of submission anymore either. I like my own site to have the very best content first.

I think you are right on the chili, Steven, about the current need to make every effort to locate related sites with authority to publish on. Is that easy? Of course not. As you point out it will take some serious content to attract the favorable attention of successful marketers on the Internet, but it can be done with the amount of focus and effort.
