Using Google Plus For Ranking Articles and Getting DoFollow Backlinks

Initially, know I am not a big fan of G+ or Google's attempt to get you to log into Google to use its services. No one I know uses G+ to socialize, and I don't.
That said ...
Within Google Plus there is a place to "post" your thoughts, and the box looks a lot like Facebook. In Facebook you can only post a limited amount of information.
In Google Plus - a complete article.
Here is a lengthy article I just posted:
https://plus.google.com/118098874456...20491921/posts
It is not IM related, but I want to draw your attention to two important issues:
First, as mentioned, the ability to to post a long article.
Second, at the end of the article I linked to my website. The link I created in the article was given a NoFollow tag by Google.
However, Google automatically picked up my link and created its own link to my site - and that is DoFollow!
I saw Google create a link almost instantaneously when I put a link to my site in the article.
That DoFollow link is right below the snippet shown for my post. Google also automatically picked up a graphic to display. In this instance, it just happens to be an award graphic.
(Food for thought, make sure you have graphics you want to be associated with on pages you are linking to!)
To reiterate: the graphic, information about my website, and DoFollow link were all automatically created by Google. I didn't have to do anything except post my article.
The bottom line is I now have a DoFollow link from Google to my website, and I have a lengthy article hosted by Google that I am guessing will likely be getting some search traffic.
After posting the article I logged out of Google. Even if you do not use G+ as a social network, it does provide marketing opportunities for you.
