Today I'm turning 27 and lots of people been telling me I'm mature enough to get married. Wow! Marriage! BIG WORD! I'm not ready yet for that kind of commitment. Therefore let me reminisce first the past year of my life. This is a safer topic than marriage..
In my case, maturity comes early. I feel like I've been very mature since age 19 or 20. Why not? I've been through a lot of challenges on that age. My college days brought me a lot of trials. It's a test of courage, determination and focus. My first year after graduation is a test of my perseverance as I take on more and more serious responsibilities for the family.
After graduation, I worked as a sales girl at one of the famous department stores then with my meager salary, I was able to send two siblings to college. That was hard work! Lot's of hard work actually because I have 6 mouths to feed, pay a college tuition and pay the rent. Looking back, I remembered the many times I cried for all the responsibilities a 20 year old was forced to shoulder.
I was a graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education and in order to get a teaching position I need to pass the licensure exam. Well, because I was working I wasn't able to review for the exam, but luckily with the help of the Lord and maybe my determination I passed the exam, and was able to get a license. That's my first achievement in life.
But getting a teaching position in a public school is not an easy process. I end up working as a secretary and inventory clerk. My second achievement in life was when my siblings graduated in college.
After they graduated, some of the burdens I carry lessen and that's when I discovered SEO. I worked on an SEO company then later on tried to do freelancing which is a risk. But I'm glad I took that risk. Because if I haven't, I wouldn't be this happy and contented right now.
This reminiscing made me realize that indeed life is unpredictable. It has lots of surprises. You will never know what will happen next. But through experience, you come to learn how to prepare yourself.
