You can go to any search engine and enter work from home or residual Income opportunity and you will be shown thousands of options. Like so many you want a residual income that will build over time. But its really hard to tell which ones are legitimate residual income opportunities vs scam jobs with no way of obtaining passive income. Don't worry, here are 5 signs you can look for that will help you find a legitimate residual income opportunity.
Warning Flag #1 - Confusing Compensation Plan
A compensation plan should be very straight forward and easy to calculate and predict what your return is based on you reaching specific goals. If you cannot understand this and others who are training you fail to give you concrete examples of the money you can earn, chances are there may be bigger problems you may want to stay clear of.
Warning Flag #2 - No money down Required
I have yet to come across an opportunity that gives you the chance to earn a residual income without investing any money upfront. I have handed applications in and where others said they would train me with no money down. But I had to trade my time for money. In other words it was a job where I only made money based on my weekly time card or the initial sale I made. This is not a residual income and will not allow you to experience financial freedom because you can only be paid once upon your actions. Most people work in this type of opportunity, unfortunately at the end of the week most do not make enough money to build wealth. Therefore they are forced to go back to work again.
A legitimate company should offer to get you signed up with an initial investment cost to go in business for yourself. If this is a legitimate residual income opportunity you should receive training and products for your investment or a way to get your money back.
Warning Flag #3 - Pyramid Schemes
Any company that has the Pyramid structure found in most business today where there can only be a set number of executives at a specific pay level or the only way to advance forward in pay is if those above you to quit, retire, or die is a scam. This is a job and not a legitimate residual income.
Usually residual income will have language like the following
- Downline
- Upline
- Bonuses
- Prospects
- Unlimited Income
- Income Based on Level of achievement.
Warning Flag #4 - You Can't Find Any Information about the Company
Companies that are new or have not had long history when it comes to the opportunity it provides. You want to be cautious here. Remember just as not every traditional business where you work a 9-5 for is an honest business, the same thing can be said for residual income opportunity companies.
You can always check the Better Business Bureau and go to a social web site like FaceBook and ask questions to members of the company . Make sure you ask questions to those that have quit the company. Keep in mine those that quit the company usually do so for personal reasons in regards to conflicts with others. You should also be able to research the company and find out the owner or president and if there are any registered complaints.
Warning Flag #5 - You Are Asked to Give Information about Friends and Family
If you are looking for an opportunity the information you are shown should be info about the business opportunity. There should not be a requirement for you to give your potential leads away to join the opportunity. In other words you should not be required to provide information about others to help someone else's business grow.
The bottom line is to do your research and to remember: Nothing comes for free, and if it sounds like you can become a millionaire over night chances are you won't.
