My First Product

I've been doing IM for years now but mostly as an affiliate marketer. Now I finally found something I could really dig my teeth in and turn it into a full blown product.

For years I have been trying to decide what would be a good enough product that I could create that I would be proud of and could sell?

So I thought, "what SPECIFIC skill or skills do I have that I could TEACH?" and the ideas came in:

1. Either teach people how to interview, and do proper resumes and the promotion of that
or
2. some sort of Management for Beginners course.

Now, my profession is Hospitality. But within hospitality I was a hiring manager, department manager, and trainer.

I really love training and teaching!

So, I decided to use some IM strategies which I'll briefly share here.

APPLIED STRATEGIES?

1. I decided to apply THE LAW OF RECIPROCITY to my "offer". I figured (like so many Gurus talk about) to "GIVE AWAY MY BEST STUFF AWAY FOR FREE!

And so I did. Quite frankly I chose to take this route because I REALLY wanted to develop a good list and ACTUALLY have a RELATIONSHIP with my list. I figure once that relationship is established I can sell them something.

2. I use PPC to build my list mostly. Last night was awesome because my CTR was OVER 12% for MOST of my keywords. I was stoked! I finally got some good results on my CTR. But I believe I know how! It was a new strategy I used (which I'm not yet prepared to share yet) but basically it
's all about making the ad super relevant and the landing page the same!

3. How to Create A Product?
a. First Think Of A Subject You Are Really Good At. A skill?
b. Write an ebook or do a camtasia video (like I did at http://resumeelite.net )

For me I was a "hospitality manager" (I worked in hotels) and I learned a lot from that industry such as hiring, firing, training. I was good atr what I did and I just so happened to do it better than most. I had a "unique" style. And I now "sell" that unique style aka "system" to those that want to learn it too.

4. I decided to move toward a BLOG format rather than a static html site format. My "loop" of communication is email->blog feedback->email and when i want to share items or videos I link to them. My vids I put on AWS Amazon server and I use Cloufront technology so that the speed of the videos is lightning fast. I really want my user experience to be always "positive".

5. I DON'T WANT TO BE A SALESMAN!
FRANK Kern taught me to have a "cool" style. Basically, talk (sell) normally. It's cool you buy my stuff and it's cool of you choose not to. I really like this approach better.

In MLM we call it "soft selling". I find "soft selling" is way cooler and more profitable.
