Internet marketing is still good marketing

If a reasonable definition of internet marketing is:
"... the art of advertising and marketing goods and services through the Internet."
Then, don't the same marketing principles apply? For example, Kotler wrote a book some time ago about the 4 Ps of marketing -- product, placement (or distribution), pricing and promotion. Since then, there have been a few Ps added, like positioning for example.
But, basically we all deal with the same stuff -- product (what are you selling), placement (or how do I get my product in front of the right people), pricing (e.g. WSO prices vs. regular retail/market prices) and promotion (what are the best incentives to offer to my potential or new customers).
With these ideas and principles in mind, internet marketing is not such a challenge, I think. Paying attention to the basics will help anyone improve their internet marketing results.
After all, warriors and internet marketers are still marketers. :-)
