When it comes personal online reputation repair, it can be a truly frustrating experience. Nothing is worse than suddenly realizing that someone has posted a negative review or article on you and it's now there for the entire world to see.

A friend of mine recently hired a reputation management company to try and fix the search results that were appearing when his name was searched for. Not only did this company charge him $4000 to do it - but they also did little more than created a bunch of social media accounts for him. This company supposedly specialized in personal online reputation repair - but failed miserably.

When it comes to personal online reputation repair - what we're really talking about it search engine optimization. The starting point is the simple reality that there are only 10 search results per page on Google ( who owns 83% of the search market ) and to remove negative listings - you just need to push down the content with other search listings.

Sites like Linkedin and Quara all rank high and will appear on page one almost immediately if your name is not overly common. It's also possible to quickly push up either positive or neutral search results by building backlinks to them ( creating ties between one site to another )

Sites like Reputationmakeover.net offer an extensive guide on how to reparir your personal online reputation - as well as there are several books on Amazon for Kindle that cover the subject.

If you need any help or advice on how to remove bad listings - drop me a line and I'd be happy to discuss your situation.
