“If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.” ~Mark Twain

Earning Money---More and More Stressful

More and more of us have started a home based business to earn money to survive financially. Some have achieved their goals, others have floundered.

One must find time to work his/her home based business, or else there is no money to be earned. With life getting in the way in the form of one's regular job, family commitments, and the need for "me" time, it is difficult to find time to achieve your goals. It seems that there just is not time to earn money in your home based business.

Working with People

Most home based businesses involve contact with people. Without contact, either online or in person, there is no one to buy your products and you will simply not have the money to pay your bills. The online superstar is simply able to broadcast and contact many people at one time.

That superstar must have something people want and be the type of person one would know, like, and trust. Otherwise there will be no sale! That simple rule; know, like, and trust applies to the superstar---and the up-and-coming online marketer. People will not buy online, unless they feel safe and secure. They need to know, like and trust you. They need to feel your site is safe.

Doing This Could Kill Your Home Based Business

With so much pressure on one to succeed and join the elite marketers, one may be tempted to take shortcuts. Shortcuts may work in the short run. For most of us, they will not work long term.

The shortcut I am talking about in this article is lying. If I want to sell more widgets in my home based business, I may be tempted to lie about what the product can do. I may be tempted to lie about how long it lasts or to minimize any shortcoming my widget may have.

Lying Can Kill Your Home Based Business

People are said to have a circle of about 250 friends. Each of those friends has a circle of about 250 friends. So, by telling a lie, a home based business person may have potentially blacklisted him/herself to 250 times 250 or 62.500 potential customers. This process moves even quicker with facebook and Twitter to broadcast the information.

Yes, the online community is huge. Yes, there are liars and cheats out there. But, most of us will not be able to fool the public.

Instead of being the online superstar and achieving his/her goals of earning more money than he/she has ever earn before, the liar could be blacklisted by the online community. The liar's goal of creating a thriving online business could die.

People like to work with those they know, like, and trust. Shortcuts can destroy your online business. Be the type of person people will want to do business with.
