Now Facebook will let you set up a blog for a company... and I now offer to set them up AND manage them as if they were company blogs.

SEO is what I do... and SEO is about building powerful backlinks for my clients existing company website.

To date I've been using a combination of blogspot blogs and wordpress blogs and get those to rank high in the search engines. I get them to rank on their OWN merits before I get them to point to the website of the company I'm representing.

These companies rarely want to bother with updating the conventional website that they had before they contracted me to do SEO, so they're really disinterested in coming up with frequent updates for a blog... which is what they pay me for.

I do all the posting, write the articles, write the sales copy and generally learn about their business in the process. Well Now I'm adding Company FACEBOOK management to my repertoire...

Facebook profiles really rank high and they are a fantastic, under-used method of getting a local businesses brand in front of a local targeted prospect base.

And it sets the local business owner up as looking like his or her business is really staying current and that improves a companies reputation locally.

I'm of the opinion this is due in no small part to the novelty being the first local business to capitalize on Facebook "be the first kid on the block to get one"

Having touted the benefits of offering a facebook addition to an existing company website, I'd be remiss to not display an example, and here's my first 'managed facebook account for a local business':

Gilbert's Restaurant Equipment and Supply- Maryland | Facebook

Gilbert's Restaurant Equipment in Maryland offers used commercial kitchen appliances.
I used the facebook photo album to display the showroom wares:

Will let keep you posted as to how sucessful my new sideline business is

I like your post a lot. I created my own company "badge" on Facebook too. I already had a fan page so we'll see what differences in traffic I'll see. Thanks for the info.

    Could I get more details

    Hi David,

This is neat - thanks for the idea. Can I ask what you charge for this kind of service? How often do you post? Have you had any good results? I noticed you were ranking highly in the Google local results. Thanks for the info!
