If you're keeping track of your online product sales in Excel, you can use the built-in features to make the data entry easier.

For example, on one worksheet, you can store a table with your product names, and the product prices.

Use a Formula to Find the Price

In another sheet, enter the name of the product that you just sold. Then, use Excel's VLOOKUP function to automatically show the price for that product.

Based on the product name, it looks in the first column in the pricing lookup table, and finds the price for the selected product.

For example, enter the product name, "Staplers", in cell C2. Then, in cell D2, type this VLOOKUP formula, to find the stapler's price:

=VLOOKUP(C2, PricingTable, 2,0)

The VLOOKUP formula will look for "Staplers" in the first column of the PricingTable, and return the price from the 2nd column of that PricingTable.
