Whatever your online story we all come across the very same thing. Guru’s in every direction telling you that they started out like this and you must do the exact same as them otherwise you won’t make a penny online.

WRONG

Have you ever thought that all you are is a number to them that they can subsequently spam for a lifetime and that the free ezine doesn’t actually materialise.

You see like many others your offered a free report that they have been offering for two years that is now seriously out of date in exchange for joining their list. At that point you are told that you will also receive a ezine full of amazing marketing tips but the truth is it never comes.

Instead you get……

A different special offer every single day sometimes two if you are really unlucky! The second will often be something along the lines of “last 12 hours of this amazing deal” and the first will have some sort of cheesy line that will put you off reading it to begin with.

In all of my time on a Guru’s mailing list I never once received something of value. To me being in receipt of an ezine means receiving information about something that doesn’t end with a special offer. Like a half an hour chat about Blogs only to be offered this Blog E-book at a special rate everyday.

But to them they will always succeed from this as it’s a numbers game. If they have 100,000 on their list and half a percent buy it they are still making a profit. But wouldn’t you rather have 10% buy and offer quality. Its like the old chestnut quality V’s quantity.

I would much rather have quality myself, plus unlike the Guru’s I want to keep my subscribers and as a result I have a really low unsubscribe rate. I get email after email from my subscribers thanking me for the ideas that I have given them and I will always chose this over quantity.

You want a good reputation, an excellent open rate, even better click through and most importantly brilliant sales rate to your products. I contact my list just twice a week (no more) and I’ve never had a single complaint. They know me and understand what to expect and whilst they spend hours unsubscribing from others they’ll stay with me for a long time and remain my loyal customers.
So don’t follow the guru’s and play the numbers game, offer quality and you won’t have to worry about the numbers. When I started out as soon as I hit 200 subscribers I could get a great result.
