If someone were to ask me how to make money with twitter, the first thing I would say is use Twitter to build your list and then make money from the list, and this is how I would do it.
Lets say that you are in the website design business and you want to get more clients from Twitter and ultimately make money from them.
Before you start I would advise that you write a small report of around fifteen pages that any prospective clients will find helpful and useful.
Perhaps a simple guide about simple website design and the different options that are available.
I would then set up a simple email capture page where by people can download this report for free.
You would then need to go onto Twitter and find people on there who are Tweeting about website design. You will find that you will have plenty of opportunities to offer helpful advice and you need to do this without mentioning your business to start with.
After a short while you can start tweeting about your business, only every 5 or 6 tweets though, not constantly, and then mentioning that you have put together a free report that people may find helpful.
When they download the report they will have to leave their email address which you can use to offer them even more help and also let them become aware of the website design services that you offer.
That is a more a long term approach on how to make money with twitter.
