Facebook marketing can provide viable and substantial amount of income, however many marketers simply don't see that. They think "damn, I really don't know what to do with this site, it's mainly for stay in touch with friends..." and as such, they completely ignore the potential monetary value they could reap from correctly utilizing Facebook ads.

Here are a few thing to do and what not to do while using Facebook ads for whatever; promoting your own product, promoting an affiliate product, offers, increasing the size of you fan page etc. Just know that this is a very general post, so I'll leave it up to you to place the right shape in the right hole.

What To Do
- If you're using a fan page, there is a high probability that you'd like to rapidly increase its size. Have you tried out the friends of friends feature? By targeting friends of friends of FB you're basically giving the friends of fans an endorsement from your page. Their mentality will be more like "Hey, my friend clicked on this ad, I'll click on it too" as opposed to "oh its just another ad".

- Make sure you target correctly. If you don't, you could end up losing a lot of money if you're not watching your ad spend carefully.

- If you're promoting your own product, give it a good impression. Getting "likes" to your fan page is way more important than just getting clicks. "Likes" can be extremely viral and if your tactics towards FB marketing are employed correctly, then you could end up spending way less than you need to... and trust me, thats a good thing... a veery good thing

-Ever tried switching your campaigns to Cost Per 1000 impressions(CPM)? If you have a really good ad copy and your CTR is high enough, you'll spend a lot less than using CPC(Cost Per Click). Would you rather spend 1 per click and spend 1 per click, or spend 1 per 1000 views and get 10, 20 or even 30 clicks? It's simple mathematics really.

What Not To Do
- If you're promoting a fan page, never just send your users to the Wall. Oooh the Wall, where everybody simply makes conversation. Creating a landing page for your FB fan page will increase conversions for whatever you're promoting drastically.

- Never underestimate the power of international FB traffic. Setting your advertising campaign to the US/UK/Canada/Australia is not always the best way to go. You can get cheap traffic from a lot of other countries and a lot of times, your conversions will be a lot higher.

- Don't just run an ad...eeer what I mean to say is don't run an ad without testing it and tweaking it. Try and find different ways to increase your CTR(Click Through Rate). This can be done by changing up the ad pic or even making the text shorter and more concise.

I know this post wasnt really long, but I hope you learned a few things about Facebook marketing that you didnt know before.

Until next time... Dwayne Morrison the EntrepreWarrior is out!
