When it comes to the affiliate and internet marketing world, reputation is a serious issue, especially when it comes to the promotion of your own products and/services. Seriously, I'm pretty sure you've bought a product online and you acted like it was Christmas all over again, then when you actually took a look at it, the product sucked...majorly. You then come to do a search on the guy that created a product and come to find out he is a low-life no good "guru" who only gets people to purchase his products if they accidentally stumbled over them, kind of like a primed and ready pressure release landmine. No one else buys his products, only you because you failed to do your research, then you end up suffering the consequences.

This notion of a reputation can be applied to all legit businesses in general as well. If you have a coffee shop and no one likes the coffee, do you think your "clients" will be coming back? Hahaaaaaaa.... no. On the other hand, if you have really good coffee that you put your time and energy in making, you'll have customers flocking in daily, new and old? Why? Your reputation. Your reputation spreads, so that's what caused the huge boom in your clientele - that, and the possible marketing and advertising campaigns you're running. Without a good reputation, you can't receive a good legit income, it's as simple as that; I really don't know how else to explain that matter of pure, stone cold, grade A fact.

All in all, it's better to have absolutely no representable reputation whatsoever than a horrible reputation that bogs your life down. When it comes down to it, it's all a matter of trust and if your clients/customers don't have that trust within you and your services- what makes you think they'll continue to do business with you anytime in the future?

....Your reputation is like a well-oiled car; if you let the oil go bad it's hard to flush it out, you pay a lot more than you need to, then it hits you that you cant go any further even if you tried. If you maintain it, then you'll get more gas mileage and faster acceleration.
