Build an Online store today
Ecommerce and online shops have become really popular and been growing at a rapid pace with millions of ecommerce shops being generated every month. The easy availability of online store creation software and popularity of platforms like ebay and etsy have given people a push to start their own successful home businesses.

The current software for ecommerce has evolved quickly and now even a layman can make an online store quickly and easily. Many people have started an ecommerce shop online in a day and already started selling stuff, Its that easy.
There are two different types of e-commerce platforms: which is primarily the hosted and self-hosted platforms. A hosted one simply means that the company will host your store ( which involves providing the server space and the tools/sfotware to run the shop), while self-hosted means they will provide you with software, but you have to get your own Web hosting ( self hosted is more like you are just getting a shopping cart which you can plugin into your website).
Below is a list of the top 10 platforms for Online stores

The hosted platforms for ecommerce

Shopify the online shop Solution starts at $29/mo. With their credit card processor, you will pay the standard 2.9 percent + 30 cent rate. If you upgrade to a higher plan, fees get lower.

You can get Volusion for $15 per month, which is almost 50 percent cheaper than Shopify.

BigCommerce starts at $29.95/mo. and with that plan you also have to pay a 1.5 percent transaction fee, in addition to other credit card processing fees. They have a wide range of tools in their package which enables you to build lists, do marketing for your store etc . Make sure your do the maths with the fees before you start selling as the fees can add up.
Wix€™s super affordable €˜eCommerce€™ plan, is just $16.17 per month, and you get 20GB storage, 10 GB bandwidth, your own domain, and additional benefits such as Google Analytics along with credits and vouchers for AdWords and Facebook Ads.
Its sweet , but not as configurable and flexible if you become big tomorrow.

Your can create your dream site with $14.95 per month, which gets all the necessary options required including domain name generation, eBay integration and automatic security and backup checks.
What else do you need, probably some more flexibility and stuff , but the price is good
Get started right away using the premium starter pack from Squarespace that gives you 500GB of bandwidth, 2B of storage space, complete tech and security support just for $10 per month
BUT you€™ll be able to sell only 1 product. If you want to sell unlimited number of products price tag is $30 per month. WOAH baby Sneaky !!

I believe Shopify is without a doubt the best one of he hosted online shop platforms.

The self hosted Ecommerce platforms

Magento is a slow and sluggish platform for many people but developers and geeks love it and it is one of the more platforms that be extensively configured and customised. And so it can take a lot of time messing with caching extensions and settings to get it all set up and so you need to know what you are doing with it.
I suggest if you go with this self hosted platform , get a geek who knows his shit to get it all configured and looking good and working smooth and you will hit those million dollar sales and not break a sweat, if luck is on your side

WooCommerce is great because it offers ultimate customizability and its simple €“So to speak. Anything you can do with WordPress, you can do with WooCommerce, its just a plugin €“ but a versatile one at that. You cannot use WooCommerce without wordpress they are born twins. And they can rock your store to super success.

WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin and so, it means blogging on your e-commerce store becomes standard and is all very neatly organized as per your blog theme. The WooCommerce shopping-cart plugin lets you build a free WordPress-based online store quickly and easily and yes you are in control, now don€™t wreck this ship.

Use this online store builder and shopping-cart software to easily launch an e-commerce website or an online store on your existing website. Boom your done! Easy peasy!

Not all e-commerce businesses deal with physical products and services. Selz lets you sell e-books, software, video stream subscriptions, music, PDF files and other digital downloads, and even takes care of distribution. Simply build your storefront, and the software automatically processes orders, accepts payments and sends download links
Among the self-hosted ones, I think WooCommerce is perfect for the average and smaller stores that just need a store to sell a few things and sell them right!
